Nothing about this makes sense. There is a well lit hallway outside the hole in the door that's on the ground. If it means anything, you would be able to fit through it if there weren't any bars.

There appears to be a note dressed as a guard holding a spear. Hold on a second, was that note you ate actually a person? Did you kill the messenger and steal their magic powers? How dare you, killing an innocent note-person without even a second thought!
